Managing Fire in Changing Times

In the fall of 2012 I was invited to speak at the Wildland Fire Conference in Alberta. Here I presented my thesis research along with the system that I developed to assist in the forest fire response rooms.

SID Seminar Series

As a Teaching Assistant at Carleton University in the fall of 2010, I was given the task of developing, organizing, and promoting the seminar series for that year. The speakers included Danielle Gabrielle-Trembley, Antonino Saggio, and Will Brown. The seminar revolved around the theme of "Better City? Better Life?". The students developed their plans for better city life while the speakers included their take on the topic.

Ottawa Magazine

The February/March 2010 Interiors issue of Ottawa Magazine included a small feature on Ontario artists and the work that inspires them. A fellow classmate Peter Wherspann and I were featured in the article, giving each the opportunity to expand on their art and ideas.

EARTH:8083

Through the summer of 2009 the Tech '09 class was given the opportunity to develop a small exhibit at the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto. We developed a story that describes the Twiggle race and their discovery of planet Earth after the humans left it behind. Descriptions of their interpretations, news videos, games, interactive media, and work from everyone in the class was present in the exhibit space. There was also an extension to the exhibit that featured the work of Maurice Tanudarta.

Illustrators have the power to___________.

The illustration class of 2009 was given the opportunity to collaborate with Rethink in the branding of their grad show. Each student developed a couple logos that were used for posters, t-shirts, buttons, CD covers, and gallery features. The show was held in downtown Toronto to host many members of the industry, family and friends. The show was an opportunity for each of the artists to show off their work and relax knowing that the year end haul was done.
